J. Scott Irvine
 Biography

SCOTT IRVINE (b. 1953) is a leading tuba player in the Toronto area where he performs regularly with the Canadian Opera Company and the Esprit Orchestra. He is also in great demand as a solo performer of new music involving his instrument. Primarily a composer of music for concert band and brass instruments, his Fantasia (1981/83) and Hannaford Overture (1986) are performed by bands across North America. His Aubade (1988) for cornet and band proved so popular that it has twice been re-issued with string orchestra and organ accompaniments. Many of his works have been recorded by the Hannaford Street Silver Band and are available on several CBC compact discs.
