Join Mount Royal Kantorei as they celebrate Canada 150 with an intimate concert exploring Canadian history, landscapes, and talent with a combination of sophistication and humour.
This concert features “Requiem” by Canadian composer Eleanor Daley. This eight-movement Requiem was awarded the 1994 National Choral Award for Outstanding Choral Composition of the Year by the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors.
The programme also includes Canadian classics such as “Four Strong Winds” by Ian Tyson, the lively Newfoundland folksong “Feller from Fortune”, Ron Smail’s arrangements of “Barrett’s Privateers” by Stan Rogers (the Canadian Navy’s unofficial anthem), and other traditional and contemporary Canadian selections.
*The concert also takes place in Banff on Saturday, November 25th at Rundle Memorial United Church (104 Banff Avenue, Banff).
