Stefan Hintersteininger

Stefan graduated from the University of British Columbia's School of Library, Archival and Information Studies with a Masters' degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) in May 2009. At the CMC, Stefan responds to library reference questions, works in circulation and cataloguing, and performs many other tasks as required. He enjoys applying his varied skills towards serving the public and promoting Canadian music.

In addition to his career Librarian of the CMC BC Region, Stefan is an active cellist, composer and arranger. Stefan studied performance at the University of British Columbia, as well completing a Masters degree at DePaul University in Chicago, where he studied with CSO cellist Katinka Kleijn. A very busy freelance musician, Stefan is a regular extra player with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, as well as being a member of the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra and the Erato Ensemble. He is also increasingly becoming known as a composer and arranger, having written works for Colin MacDonald's Pocket Orchestra and Tom Cone's Opera Project.
