“The text for Invisible Cities is taken from the book of the same name by the Italian writer Italo Calvino. Each time Marco Polo returns from his travels, he describes to Kublai Khan the cities he has visited.

“’Cities and Memory’ speaks to my body… ‘Cities and the Dead’ speaks to my soul…‘Inferno’ speaks to my life. For me, traveling is a mixed blessing. […] But no matter how inspiring the distant regions may be, I am always aware that I do not belong there. […] I too must: ‘seek and learn to recognize who and what are not inferno, then make them endure, give them space.’”
