“A delectable numbness and delightful torpor, Le sentiment océanique refers to the mind’s obsession for the loved one. In its poetic progression, the work inspires itself from love’s various degrees of transformation : its beginning, peaks, surgings and downfalls. The listener may find no resemblance with his own experience of the raptures of love. May he still feel some languor with the expression of this musical metaphor.”
