Old and new flow seamlessly together in Elektra’s annual celebration of the Christmas season, Chez Nous.
With touchstones of treasured melodies such as Angels We Have Heard on High and The Huron Carol, we welcome you to the warmth of “our house” and the beauty of Elektra’s celebrated sound. Also on the program will be the world premiere of Winter’s Grace by Edward Henderson (poem by Luci Shaw), a work honouring the memory of the late Diane Loomer. Ola Gjeilo’s Northern Lights, in a new voicing for women’s choir will receive its world premiere.

We are delighted to welcome back old friends A Touch of Brass (brass quintet) with whom we recorded
Robert Buckley’s playful December, heard again this year. Special guests the Eric Hamber Women’s Chorale under director Les Nerling bring their youthful voices to the concertto the concert and, with Elektra, bring 80 voices together in glorious song.

Glorious Christmas music by one of Canada’s most celebrated choral ensembles. Again this year with audience sing-alongs and treats for the kids, all ages are warmly invited to “our house”.
