Duration: 00:09:00
Genre: Keyboard, Piano, One Keyboard, Two Hands

Instrumentation Set Number 1:
  • 1 x Piano
Programme Note:
besos y volcanes is a piece about longing and desire, about the beginning of love. The title (which means kisses and volcanoes) comes from the fifth sonnet of Neruda’s Cien sonetos de amor. It is a collection I return to again and again for both artistic and romantic inspiration, and its influence is felt throughout this piece: in its mood, its obsessions, and its form.

Premiere Information:
12 September 2009, Monnaka Tenjo Hall, Tokyo, Japan. Satoko Inoue, piano.
