Chamber music in Canada has been defined by collective organizing of artist-run spaces, composer collectives, and ensembles. Given the degree to which this organizing is unpaid, our community suffers from burn-out and the loss of institutional memory. In this panel we hear from artists who have self-presented about their strategies, successes, and challenges. The panel will be moderated by Monica Pearce of the Toy Piano Composers, who will be joined by Cheryl Duval of the Thin Edge New Music Collective, and Nick Storring of ratio.
PIVOT is presented by the Canadian League of Composers in collaboration with Continuum Contemporary Music, and the Canadian Music Centre.
*The Canadian Music Centre (CMC) is an accessible building with street level access to the right of the main entrance. CMC has gender neutral washrooms.
