"Artistic Director Mary Beth Alger has shifted Ashmont Hill Chamber Music’s focus from cultivation of a locally based repertory company to acting as an independent presenter; she continues to draw soloists and ensembles mostly from the Boston area, but now reaches further afield as well. The Claremont Trio, which performed on Sunday afternoon at AHCM’s usual venue at Peabody Hall of All Saints Church, bridges these two categories. Although the threesome is based in New York, the Bruskin twins, violinist Emily and cellist Julia, grew up in this area, and the trio (completed by Australian native Andrea Lam, piano) has performed frequently here. Their admirably varied program contained exemplars from the 18th, 19th and 21st centuries..."
