Calgary’s original string ensemble, Kensington Sinfonia is joined by the talented young students of Amici String Program to explore folk music seen through a Classical lens - Antonín Dvořák incorporating Bohemian folk idioms into his String Serenade, Sir Ernest MacMillan honouring French Canadian traditional music, and American Steven Snowden’s take on Appalachian folk.
Joyful music presented with the inspiring energy of the future stars of Calgary’s Classical scene, this concert is the perfect remedy for mid-Winter blues.
