Programme Note:
'Traki fragments' (English translation)

A shadow am I, far from the dark villages.
God's silence
I drank from a well in the woods.

On my forehead steps cold metal.
Spiders seek my heart.
There is a light that dies in my mouth.

Night found me in a heath,
Stiff and staring with filth and the dust from stars.
In the hazelbushes
Crystal angels ring and ring.

The lonely wander in silence in the hall of stars.

Silently shines the candle
In the dark room;
A silver hand
Extinguishes it.

Wind-silent, starless night.

'Wandrer's Nachtlied II' (English translation)

Over all the hilltops
Is peace.
In all the treetops,
You feel
Scarcely a breath.
The little birds are silent in the forest.
Only wait, soon
You also will rest.
