Programme Note:
The title is taken from Psalm 45. A slow descending triadic motif that introduces the work evolves into a duet between violins and celli over a rhythmic inner pulse impatiently interrupted from time to time. Finally the whole ensemble merges with joyful references to Bach and Beethoven concluding with the original triadic motif but now ascending.

Premiere Information:
June 26, 2005, Church of the Lighted Window, Los Angeles; CKW Chamber Orchestra, Conductor: Joel Lish In Praise of Music: Jeannie Pool, Artistic Director
