Programme Note:
Aurora takes its name and inspiration from the aurorae that light up the sky at the poles of the earth. The string players, at times throughout the piece, are required to hum some of the notes they play and whisper text. The text speaks of some of the myths and legends about the Aurorae from peoples in the Northern regions.
