Composition Date: 2006
Duration: 00:03:00
Genre: Choral (9 + Voices), With Solo Instrument, , Keyboards

Instrumentation Set Number 1:
  • 1 x Piano
  • 1 x Mixed chorus
Programme Note:
Laudate Dominum omnes gentes is one of the five Lucernal or Vesper psalms from the Catholic office of Vespers. Traditionally used in the Mass for Holy Saturday, it is also commonly employed after the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and as a general antiphon of praise.
This particular setting of Laudate Dominum is quite exuberant and joyful. Care has been taken with voice-leading, imitation and pairing of parts in order to make it accessible for amateur choirs. It is hoped that the variety of textures and rhythm, together with the demand for attention to changing colour and expression, will prove to be rewarding for both singers and audience.
