KENNETH PEACOCK, (b. 1922, d. 2000), composer, pianist and musicologist, studied with Alma Cockburn, Mona Bates, Reginald Godden and Leo Smith at the Toronto Conservatory of Music (now the Royal Conservatory of Music) and, at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, studied composition with Healey Willan and John Weinzweig. Other teachers included Michel Hirvy in Montreal and F.J. Cooke in Boston. His String Quartet won the McGill Chamber Music Competition in 1949. Widely known ...
