Canadian composer, organist, teacher and administrator Raymond Daveluy was born in Victoriaville, Quebec on 23 December 1926, and initially, in 1937, was a pupil of his father, organist and bandmaster Lucien Daveluy. He studied in Montreal - music theory with Gabriel Cusson and organ with Conrad Letendre and, later, Hugh Giles in New York City.
He wrote mostly organ music, was an impressive improviser, and performed internationally from 1946 through to the 1990s.
