Robert Lemay hosting composer workshop at North American Saxophone Alliance conference

This year the 2015 North American Saxophone Alliance conference in Calgary February 12-15, 2015 is "putting an emphasis on new music and collaboration with composers and other instrumentalists/media." To this end, Robert Lemay will be the composer in residence. In this role, he will be hosting a master class for saxophonists interpreting his pieces, as well as a master class for student composers for works that feature the saxophone.

NEW MUSIC EDMONTON: 2015/16 Call For Proposals
New Music Edmonton, Edmonton’s premier organization for the promotion and presentation of contemporary music and sound-related arts is inviting proposals for its 2015/16 season. Ensembles, soloists, sound artists, improvisers and others are all welcome to submit ideas for performances! Our programming committee will begin reviewing submissions in early 2015 and all proposals received by January 15, 2015 will receive full consideration for programming.

The DaCapo Chamber Choir is pleased to announce that the 2015 NewWorks choral composition competition is now open.

The purpose of the NewWorks competition is to foster new and engaging choral works by Canadian composers. We are continually looking for new pieces to perform which will challenge us and our audiences - both musically and emotionally.
