CMC Presents: Elinor Frey

Montreal-based virtuoso Elinor Frey presents a program of new music for Baroque cello. The concert features work by Linda Catlin Smith, Isaiah Ceccarelli, Ken Ueno, Scott Godin, Lisa Streich, and David Jaeger

CMC Presents: Germaine Liu & Sarah Hennies

A unique one-off collaboration between two of the most audaciously original voices in percussion music: Sarah Hennies (Ithaca, NY) and Germaine Liu (Toronto). The pair will perform each other’s together and their own solo music separately.

CMC Presents: Alex Samaras

Toronto-based singer Alex Samaras is known for his work with everyone from Meredith Monk to the Queer Songbook Orchestra. The program will include some of Samaras’ own songs alongside pieces by Morton Feldman, Robin Dann (Bernice), Joni Mitchell, Bram Gielen, Meredith Monk, Benjamin Britten, Leonard Bernstein, and John Beckwith.

CMC Presents: Lindsay Dobbin & Kat Estacio

Kanien'kehá:ka (Mohawk) - Acadian - Irish water protector and artist Lindsay Dobbin, who lives in K'jipuktuk (Halifax), is a fascinating presence in the sound art realm. They often collaborate with the natural world, employing drums as relational tools to frame how we listen to the landscape.

Tkaronto (Toronto)-based Kat Estacio blends delicate, abstract electronics with the traditional gong music of the Philippines to produce an engrossing, mirage-like listening experience.

CMC Presents: R. Andrew Lee

Tuesday, March 21, 2019, 7:30 PM

Celebrated American contemporary music pianist R. Andrew Lee is known for his deft interpretations of work from the experimental music spectrum. He is visiting with a special program of Canadian and American music anchored by his masterful reading of Ann Southam's enigmatic Soundings for New Piano which he recorded in 2011.
