Viktor Lazarov is a Canadian-Serbian pianist whose keen enthusiasm for learning, performing and collaborating with other musicians has lead him to perform a solo repertoire ranging from Bach to Dallapiccola and beyond, and chamber music from the Baroque to the 21st century.

Viktor has played in a duo with violinist Robert Margaryan, with whom he gave the world premiere of the complete Second Sonata for Violin and Piano by Miodrag Lazarov Pashu. Since then they have recorded the work on CD and performed it at several venues in Montreal. Their recording has been broadcast in Europe in 2015.

Viktor is continuously engaged in collaborations with contemporary composers, and some of his premieres include Lazarov Pashu’s Cadenza 1, for violin and piano, Time 5, for two pianos , Waltz for solo piano, David Clay Mettens’s Incensories for large ensemble, Three Sonnets for Mezzo-Soprano and Piano and Songs for My People, as well as David Hier’s Piano Quartet.

On April 18th 2013, he made his debut as a pianist/composer in the piece Dance Movement: Hommage to Reich and Pashu at the student choreography showcase of the USC Dance Department at the Koger Centre for the Arts.

Viktor is a recipient of SSHRC CGS M award in 2014 for his research and performance of keyboard works by J.S. Bach. A Bronze medalist at the Concours de Musique du Royaume in 2016, Viktor is an active soloist with a wide ranging repertoire. His recordings have been broadcast in the USA and Serbia.

After earning a B.Mus. in piano performance under the guidance of Prof. Marina Lomazov at the University of South Carolina, Viktor completed his M.Mus. in performance with Prof. Ilya Poletaev at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. He is presently enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Performance at McGill University.
