Holly Nimmons

Holly Nimmons is the Director of Development and Communications at the CMC. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the Coalition for Music Education in Canada. She was responsible for building the resources to sustain and grow the organization. She also initiated new programs such as Youth4Music and Wise Voices for Music, as well as strengthened Music Monday, the annual celebration of music education. She has held other senior executive positions in the arts and social services sectors, and worked with numerous other organizations in her consulting practice; most recently with the CMC to help guide the creation of a pan-Canadian education strategy.

Holly’s background with strategic planning and organizational development will have an immediate impact on the advancement of the CMC in its service to the music community in Canada and abroad.

In addition, her passion to work in support of CMC’s vision and mandate is guided by a rich family heritage in music. Holly’s father, Phil Nimmons O.C., O.Ont is a CMC Associate Composer, and both of her children are active musicians. She has a strong belief in the intrinsic value of musical creation in Canada.
