John S. Gray

John began playing piano in 1960, and sang in several school choirs by 1966. He began making recordings by 1967, and was involved in "classical music" radio by the time he was in University, in 1972. As a composer, he has several self-produced recordings spanning the years between 1978 and 2001. John is a member of the Canadian League of Composers. As part of the Music Services team at the CMC, John is responsible for the sound recordings in the Ann Southam Audio Archive, as well as sound samples on the CMC website. He also assists several CMC Associate Composers with their sound recording needs, and works frequently with the Alliance for Canadian New Music Projects by recording their concerts.
