" A choreographer often creates a dance work and then finds or commissions a score.

For his latest creation for Toronto Dance Theatre, Christopher House took a score — Rivers, a cycle of piano works by Ann Southam — and developed a work for 10 dancers.

“It’s a suite of pieces. There are a series of very beautiful scenes, and virtuosic, driving, swirling sections. The feel changes very much through the course of the piece,” says House by phone from Toronto.

When Live Art Dance presents Rivers from Thursday to Saturday at the Sir James Dunn Theatre, it will be House’s third visit to Halifax..."
