Perfect for your next concert, seminar or meeting!

The Canadian Music Centre exists to stimulate the awareness, appreciation and performance of Canadian new music by making the music of Canadian composers available through the Centre's collection, information resources, production and distribution services, and performance spaces.

On Saturday September 1 Anne Marie Page, CMC Repertoire Promotions Consultant and I visited http://www.mypianohouse.com/ to test the Steingraeber 7 foot. This one certainly has a lovely voice. More pianos to see though.

We have started to look for a concert grand for the new space at Chalmers House. So far we have visited Paul Hahn Pianos and Robert Lowrey's Piano Experts. Adam Sherkin, CMC associate composer and performer, www.adamsherkin.com and Christina Petrowska Quilico, CMC voting member and performer, www.christinapetrowskaquilico.com are helping us out with this important and exciting job. Do you know of a piano looking for a home? Please let us know if you do.

We've found two fireplaces on the main floor that were hidden behind the drywall. We are going to incorporate them into the new spaces! It is going to look so great.

The Canadian Music Centre is renovating its beautiful home in downtown Toronto while being respective of the heritage status of Chalmers House, a 1892 Victorian building. A main floor-level multifunctional space has been designed to host small events/concerts/CD launches for start up and small ensembles, workshops and a sound recording room to record premiere performances of new works.
